A thick hoop with an edge that looks poured rather than cut. The wave runs the whole way round, so the light never hits it evenly — it catches, moves, and catches again as you turn your head.
At 5 mm through, this is a solid hoop, not a wire. It has weight in the hand and sits flat against the lobe rather than swinging forward. The hinge clicks shut, so there is no butterfly back to lose down the sink.
Underneath the polish it is stainless steel — the same grade used for body piercings. There is no plating: the silver colour is the steel itself, so there is nothing to wear through, and it will not turn your ears green.

Wearing them
Waterproof, so the shower, the sea and the gym are all fine. Wipe with a soft cloth and keep them in their pouch when you are not wearing them.

Stainless steel with PVD gold — vaporised and bonded in a vacuum chamber, not dipped. Where a piece has stones, they are clear cubic zirconia.
Care
Shower, swim, sleep and exercise in them. Put jewellery on after perfume and hairspray, not before — it is the alcohol that dulls a finish, not water. A soft dry cloth is usually all they need.
